Jungle trekking with Bobby Firman SitepuBobbytrekking752

When the courses are over, Bobby – our friend and jungle guide – will pick you up and bring you to a guesthouse in the village. We recommend to go for a minimum of 2 days, so you can enjoy the nice atmosphere and the wonderful dinner at the camp in the evening. To go trekking together is the beautiful end of the course.

For our course in May, trekking is included in the price, and Bobby will pick you up from the bus station to bring you to the village, when you come from Simulap.

At the beginning of our June/July courses Bobby will come around to fix the number of people. In case you already know that you want to join trekking, please let us know by mail, so we can inform him in advance. He could plan his time much better and keep us enough time free.

In this area you will definitely see Orangutans, because the older ones are semi-wild. They had been captured illegally by people from the cities many years before, and are brought back to the forest since some years. People from Bukit Lawang and the surrounding villages live from tourism, so that today from this side of the National park no trees are cut illegally like in other areas. Sometimes, if you are lucky, you can see Gibbons, Monitor-lizards or Horn bills. Thomas-Leaf-Monkeys are easy to find.

Bobby has a huge knowledge of the plants and animals of the jungle. He is one of the few people, who really love the jungle. He saves 20% of his income to buy public jungle for the same reason, Aca did it, and also Sheena and Bob in Simulap.

The way back from trekking is by rafting, that means tubing with big tubes being connected, what is a lot of fun!
Bobby will help you at the end of the trek to arrange the transport to other places or back to the airport.
